I have just bought a Vodafone Smart Prime 6 and find that there is no option to set the default write disk to external SD under Settings/Storage. There are other posts regarding workarounds but this seems to be a fundamental flaw. I have a Smart Ultra 6 with Lollipop and it has this option and also a2 year old ASUS tablet with Jelly Bean that also has Set Default Write Disk to SD card so I can't understand why the Smart Prime 6 doesn't have it. Before I take it back for a refund, is there any possibility that this feature can/will be fixed with a software update?

Hi there
There is a possibility that it may be fixed, however, Vodafone don't comment on when updates will be released, nor what the updates contain. This means that you probably would just have to wait around for the update to come out and see what it does.

I spent a while with a Smart 4 Power some time back. That definitely had the option to set defaults under Settings|Storage, so it does sound as though something's gone backwards. From memory, you could set it for the camera and downloads - though not apps, they had to be installed and then moved if possible.
That device also pulled an external SD into the main memory pool - rather than it appearing more like a usb hard drive on a pc - which was neat. I don't suppose later versions of the formware simply use the card if they need to do they?

There's been some great advice here already.
All the information we have on software updates can be seen in our statement.
