Hi,
I have been using my Sure Signal for the last 18 months with very little issue and now I have managed to get a Home Hub 5 to replace my BT Openreach Modem and Technicolor Router, which I thought would be a step up. It should have been a straight swap from what I have seen on some forums, however I have found that the Sure Signal wouldn't connect when I got the new router in place. I subsequently completed a hard reset of the Sure Signal with no improvement. Digging a little deeper I have found that there may have been ports that needed to be opened, so I opened the requesit ports, reset the Sure Signal and still no good. In both of these cases the Sure Signal lights flash, for a period of about 20 minutes, then only the Power light remains on. As I assume that there are many users with Home Hub 5's that also use Sure Signals I can only assume that they should function together, but I am having no luck. I swapped the Home Hub back for the Openreach Modem and Technicolor Router, hard reset the Sure Signal again and within an hour I had signal again.
I really want to be able to use the Home Hub, however I am not sure what else I can do as I need the Sure Signal to get ANY level of coverage in my house. It appears to be a multi-network black hole (when I moved in we had SIMs from all networks to try and find out what we could do and none seem to get indoor coverage unless I put a phone in the window, in which case Vodafone's was 'better') which is not great as it stands, hence the Sure Signal.
I would be very appreciative of any input regarding this matter.
Kind regards

I'm having the same problems - I've upgraded by business broadband to Infinity with a BT Hub 5, and the my V2 Sure Signal no longer works. Our IT guys have done the port setup and I've done a full reset of the sure signal. On reset, the two lights flash for a few minutes then stop.
If I do a tracert 212.183.133.177, it times out at 85.205.0.86
I understand you have solved the problem that user adrianforrester had - mine looks identical, so I would be grateful to have/know the same solution.
Thanks!

Well I have just read through the thread and I have a SS version 4 and BT Business Fibre with a Home Hub 5. I have done the port forwarding setup (or rather a BT engineer did) but no joy with phone connection. I have the red light on the SS4 but nothing else. I would be grateful if adrianforrester could tell me that his system worked OK without re-programming the wholw system!?

Having just read through all of the above, I'm really annoyed as we have just gone to infinity and now have the same issue with my SS. I unfortunately do not have any real expertise in port forwarding or ability to make changes to the BT hub 5. I'm guessing I have no other option but to buy a SS3 to get my Vodafone signal. We have 5 different phones in my house and all are useless. Is there actually a fix for the SSv2?

After having similar problems as previous posters using SS with BT Homehub5, I cancelled Homehub 5 and am back using my original broadband supplier without fibre. Vodafone did eventually admit that there is a problem with SS and BT and although it works for some people, it does not work for everyone. I have investigated the problem with other fibre suppliers who can cover my area and have had a very technical explanation as to why it wont work all the time. Vodafone have also said to me that they are developing an app which dials directly through the modem and will make the SS redundent. The sooner this happens the better and I can get fibre re-installed in my home/office. Come on Vodafone, get this app released and catch up with the competition otherwise I am off to EE who currently have very good coverage.
