Vodafone Updates Error

Beugel1987

Hello.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which also comes with the Vodafone Updates built in.

However, almost 2-3 times every day when using a certain app, I get an error message that says 'Unfortunately Vodafone Updates has stopped'.

Do you know if there is a fix for this as the last thing I want to do is uninstall the Updates app.

Many thanks,

Christopher

Hi Guys,

Can you confirm exactly which Vodafone apps or widgets you have installed and active on your phone so I can try to replicate this on my own S4?

I know I used to have the home screen widget but this was removed because I didn’t use it.

If I can replicate this in the office, we can get it passed onto our support teams for you.

James

Hi James,

Myself, I have the following pre-installed Vodafone apps:

Discover

My Web

Updates (Out of the three, I don't have the Vodafone Travel installed)

My Vodafone

Vodafone (This is the picture of a Sim Card where you can access Sport, Travel etc.)

I hope this helps.

Chris

Hi Northern-dj,

Thanks for the info regarding this unknown issue.

Like you say, hopefully someone from the eForum team will get back to us ASAP.

Hi Chris

I was intending to do the reset but after reading the comments here I've decided against it especially considering you've already tried that. Fingers crossed Vodafone are able to provide a fix for this.

Hi hrym

Thank you for the advice and requests for help with this problem.

Hi Northern-dj

Thank you for the information.

I think personally I'd prefer to leave the update app untouched until Vodafone can rectify the problem.

Hi James

Thank you for looking into this problem.

My Vodafone apps are:

Cloud
Discover
My Vodafone
My Web
Updates
Vodafone (sim card pic)
Vodafone VIP

The reported error occurred on my phone prior to installing Vodafone Cloud and VIP. The other Vodafone apps were pre installed on my phone so it must be one of the other five Vodafone apps causing the error message.

Fingers crossed!

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,

Thanks for the update. I know what you mean, it's the last thing I feel like doing too.

The error popped up again earlier today as soon as I changed my phone from 'Mute' to 'Sound'.

Kind regards,

Chris

I'm beginning to wonder whether this is an issue with the latest Android update?

Could it be that Vodafone Updates, or one of the things it's trying to update, has a compatibility issue?

Hi hrym,

It could be you never know.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what either James or another member of the Vodafone team has to say.

It's really strange.

I've merged the two threads as they were talking about the same issue...

Inever used to get this with my old S4, but I do now with the new one, this also has the update installed.  Not sure where its coming from, for the few times a day it happens is a pain in the rear.  I have the following Voda apps running

Discover

Updates

VIP

My Vodafone.

Also had an issue today trying to use BT WiFi, seems we can only connect to some access points not all?

Hi PeteSullivan,

Shame you have the error too. It seems more people have it than what I thought!

Like I mentioned earlier, I change from 'Mute' to 'Sound' on the S4 and the error just pops up.

Not had any issues with connecting to certain Wi-Fi but then again, I'm not a BT customer nor do I connect to BT when out and about due to not being registered etc.

Hope you manage to sort that problem out soon.

Regards,

Chris
