Hi all,
I upgraded to the LG G4 last July and 10 days ago it crashed and wouldnt turn it (reboot cycle was all i got). It got sent off for a repair but today i got told it cant be repaired under the warranty as it had a small amount of damage to the side of the case. The problem is clearly software/firmware related and im frustrated that a small bit of external damage ruins my warranty!
I openly admit that i have dropped the phone but it was so small it didnt even break the glass.
My question, has anyone had any dealings similar to this and what can i do? I dont (stupidly) have insurance on the phone and i dont want to/cant afford to pay £140 for the phone to be repaired.
Thanks in advance

Hi there
There are quite a few queries regarding this sort of thing. The key thing to be aware of is that Vodafone are a third party repair agent. Under the very strict rules they have to adhere to, they are unable to proceed with an in warranty repair on any handset with any form of damage. This means that your phone cannot be repaired under warranty due to the damage it has sustained, even if the damage is totally unrelated to the fault.
What can you do about it? Well, you can pay the money to have an out of warranty repair. Another option is to take the phone to LG directly and see if they will be prepared to repair it under warranty for you. As the manufacturer they do have some leeway/discretion - in fact they have a lot more discretion than a third party repairer.
