I've had enough. After 7 hours of phone calls, online chats - trying and failing to obtain emails (i.e. operators have no email access); THEY ARE REFUSING TO BLACKLIST my lost phone and my insurance won't accept this. It is a third party phone and reason i am given is - we do not hold imeis - and of 3rd party - we do not block and do not hold in database. I really do not know what to do now.. i'm pretty sure this is unlawful but confused what to do - do i take both vodafone and my insurance company to ombudsman; is there a third party that can blacklist my phone...I have a receipt!
HELP!!

Hi @snoopydoopy
Providing a Vodafone SIM was last used in the phone, even if the phone was not purchased direct from the network, Vodafone should be able to IMEI block and blacklist the phone.
At least by coming to the forum you have found the best of Vodafone Customer Services, wait for one of the Team to get to the thread and they will get this sorted for you.

i know this; i worked for virgin media - they are plainly refusing to do so - and under the RIPA act they should hold all imei numbers - but they deny holding old imei numbers i.e. pre 11th feb in my case and esp. if its a third party - im completely dumbfounded... im not kidding when i say i have spent 7-8 hours on phones...

Hi @snoopydoopy
When you received the PM, there would have been a link in the message with the word here, you would have needed to click on the link and reply with your details by secure email. Within minutes, you would have received an automated reply looking something like #12345. If you did not receive this, your emailed reply would not have been received.
When you have the automated reply # number, you need to put it on the thread, this will make it quicker for @Alex to pick up your reply and get back to you.

Does anyone know how I can privately blacklist my phone? Is there any way?

You need to put the automated # reply number on the thread, this will speed things up for you.
Rest assured the Team here won't be ignoring you, they will get to you as quickly as possible.
