Vodafone will NOT blacklist my phone!?

snoopydoopy
4: Newbie

I've had enough. After 7 hours of phone calls, online chats - trying and failing to obtain emails (i.e. operators have no email access); THEY ARE REFUSING TO BLACKLIST my lost phone and my insurance won't accept this. It is a third party phone and reason i am given is - we do not hold imeis - and of 3rd party - we do not block and do not hold in database. I really do not know what to do now.. i'm pretty sure this is unlawful but confused what to do - do i take both vodafone and my insurance company to ombudsman; is there a third party that can blacklist my phone...I have a receipt!

HELP!!

@snoopydoopy I can see we received your query on 1 March and we've been in contact since this date.

Your case reference is #18176234 and we'll reply to your latest email as soon as possible.

Can someone sort this nonsense out! Now im being told you don;t have the IMEI with my number - when it has been used since sept 17 till circa 11th Feb 2018!!

I have a bloody pic for god sakes confirming this as well as the receipt!

BLACK LIST MY HANDSET!

WRT165 [#18176234]

BLACKLIST MY HANDSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WRT165 [#18176234]

Vodafone still sending me conflicting, stupid short messages without actually helping. what is going on in there!!!

crappy vodafone; useless - conflicting - awful to non-existent customer and web service still refusing to blacklist 3rd party phones which are lost or stolen.

is there some way to force such a network to blacklist hence not leading my insurance ineffective and impossible going forward? Seems ombudsman can only fine not force them to do anything!?

@snoopydoopy I've just replied to your latest email.

Whilst the call handlers will tell you that they don't know your phone's IMEI number and that may actually be true, for certain Vodafone know your phone's IMEI number as it's attatched to everything you have ever done on your phone with the Vodafone SIM in it.

Have you tried filling out the form here:

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/proof-of-purchase/

I know it states 'Proof of Purchase' but it can be used for proof of useage and phone barring as well.

Thanks but that form is no use, just got back a general pointless response:

'Thanks for getting in touch.

For proof of purchase, you can use the receipt you were given when you bought your device.' well duhhhhhhh

You surprise me, when my eldest lost his phone I used that exact form, the phone was barred as a result and I received an email back with a document attached that contained all the information I needed for the insurance, it showed the following information.

Purchase date N/A ( I didn't purchase it from Vodafone)

   Device name and model,

   IMEI number,

Date device first used on network,

Date device last used on network,

   Bar type,  (lost or stolen)

   Date of blacklisting.

Maybe they have changed things in the time since then.

The only thing I found wrong about the form is there is only room for one IMEI. The phone was a dual sim (OnePlus) so when I called them up to mention it has two IMEI's that needed barring they were somewhat confused. I don't think they believed a phone could have two IMEI's, which thinking about it as Vodafone don't supply any dual sim phone's then they probably wouldn't have come across it that often.

I am furious, having a nervous breakdown cus Vodafone are ##~## and cannot do a simple job and blacklist my bloody phone.. been forwarded to useless stolenphones team who have got digits wrong and blacklisted a nonsense imei with a digit missing.

How crap can you get! I demand!!!! you sort this **** out.

I am ill, with mental health problems - and cannot deal with your continual non-service and arguing with my insurance company WHY YOU CANT DO YOUR JOB!!!
