Hi
Has anyone with a Star 7589 got it to work correctly with Vodaphone ? If so please tell me how.
I have a Star S7589 dual sim phone which is similar to a galaxy note II, running Android Jelly Bean. I have used sims from 3 and 02, (giff gaff) with no issues, however coverage is poor where I work. Vodaphone signal is strong in that area but I cannot get a data connection. Have been to a shop and spoken to technical. The shop demonstrated the sim was OK in another phone. Settings are as described on the Vodaphone site. Can make calls and receive texts but no email or internet.
Grateful for any info or else its back to 3, the best of the alternates.
Best Regards

I have found the solution - so much for vodaphone technical help and shop expertise - they really should do better.
Authentication type - PAP must be added to the normal setup.
Thank goodness someone knows what they are doing. Can't help but wonder if this is the same solution for a lot of other non working phones.

The generic settings sometimes work (included below - I've got these working in a couple of unofficial devices) although there's no guarantee with it being a non-Vodafone sold or supported handset unfortunately.

Thanks Redpages. These are the settings I already have - alas they do not work for data. Just seems odd that all is ok on three and o2 networks - so I guess vodafone must be doing something different. Back to three then .. .

Really? So they should be able to provide support on a phone that they don't range? I do think that is a bit unreasonable of you to expect, especially when it isn't even a common phone in the UK?
