Hi All,
Having some issues moving from Sky to Vodafone for phone and fibre broadband, and at the moment I'm at a bit of an impass so looking for input.
I would like to move to Vodafone broadband and phone as they have a better price than Sky at the moment, however on running the availability checker I'm the only house in my street that cannot get it. Call to vodafone support and they advised that it could be an issue with the BT database, so contact Openreach to check fibre availability and that my details are correct. Openreach have advised everything looks good their end apart from my cabinet being in high demand for fibre and closed the call.
Fair enough, however what I did not consider at the time is that the line checker looks at ADSL and FTTC availability, and as I have broadband already with Sky, Vodafone should be able to provide this. Another run of the checker shows no service to my address still.
So the fault lies with either Openreach or Sky, or is there no fault as Sky is an LLU service so will not appear on Openreach's database?
I'm a bit confused as to where to go with this at the moment and who to talk to, I'm also positive I was able to use the Vodafone line checker late last year without any issues and got a positive result!
If anyone can give me advice on who to go to about this I would really appreciate it.
Many Thanks

Hi,
What a conundrum !
I find the Ofcom help pages a good place to start.
Link > ofcom-checker.
I can only really point you to "08080 044 848 for broadband (free from all UK landlines and mobiles) with lines open between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week."
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

Hi Tsathoggua,
If I use https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/, it doesn't recognise my number, but I guess that makes sense if I'm on Sky equipment.
But! the one here: https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broadband-packages/, says i can get at leaset bog-standard broadband?
Totally confused 😕
EDIT: BT say my cabinet is full for fibre, but to be honest I'll be happy to move just to standard broadband for now till it becomes avaialble.

When you did your availability checker, did it show any availabilty at all?
It may be the case of fibre not being available to your home address, as this is provided by the Vodafone core network from the green cabinet.
Let us know what the availability checker states, and we'll investigate this further with you.

Hi Dane_B,
Availability checker shows nothing at all, all it says is that 3/4G is available as an alternative. It doesn't even show that broadband is available!
Like I say, checked all other houses in my street, no problem. Which leads me to believe that my details are wrong somewhere down the line?
Many Thanks
