What is auto sync and how do I reset it?

Hello,

When I try to update my emails, my LG3 keeps saying that 'Auto sync is turned off. Update emails manually'. I haven't the tiniest iota of an idea what all that means and if anyone can help me I'll promise not to curse my phone again for at least a day.

Bear in mind that mobile phones now have more power than the supercomputers of a few years ago.  Not being a techncal wizard is nothing to be ashamed of.  And don't worry about asking what you think are "obvious" questions.  No one will talk down to you and, if you don't know something - well, it isn't obvious.
