Wifi calling

Hello everyone, new the forum, hope someone can help with the following question I need to know if the Samsung galaxy Edge Plus is wifi calling compatible? I am thinking of purchasing a preowned handset that is perhaps just a few months old(I was thinking of buying one that is locked to vodafone) I have spoken with vodafone over the phone a couple of times with great fustration and they say that the s6Edge Plus is not covered by wifi calling(only s6 & s6 edge are). I paid a visit to Vodafone Inverness shop for additional advice, the guy in the store was helpfull and told me to call back in the afternoon as the guy from samsung will be around demonstrating samsung handsets & is very clued up. I called back and spoke with him, he said that the s6, s6 edge, s6 edge Plus and s7`s all support wifi calling. he said the wifi calling gets activated by your vodafone contract sim and will take around a day for the wifi calling feature to show up on your device(on the assumption that you have wifi calling enabled on your plan). None of this seem to make any sense as It says on vodafone website that only `special` s6 and s6edge only purchased from vodafone will work? surely if what the samsung guy is saying is true, I could purchase a hadset from anywhere(unlocked) and just pop my vodafone contract sim in(which is wifi calling enabled) an away I go? I am sorry to ramble on but nobody seems to have a solid answer to my question anywhere, so I thought this was the best place to go for help. regards, Matt

You are going to need to be careful here.

 

Until the 6 months payment has been made by the account holder, the phone remains the property of Vodafone and it would be Vodafone's property which is being sold.  The phone is intended to be used with the account holders SIM card.

 

 

Not sure about the Edge+ but the S7 definitely has it, mine works perfectly.

Hi,

I have an iPhone SE, and I have contacted the customer service several times already regarding to activating the Wi-Fi calling on my phone.

The CS confirm that I have the Wi-Fi calling enabled on my line, however, there seem to be no way to activate it at my end.

I have followed other posts in the forum, including restore as new, but nothing helps.

I am wondering if anyone else still having the issue?

First you need to check that Wi-Fi is switched on.

Mostly Wi-Fi is switched off by default in the settings, so turn it on by choosing ‘Settings’ followed by ‘Wi-Fi’, and  then switch it to ‘on’. Then connect to an available Wi-Fi network, such as your home Wi-Fi or a public hotspot.

 

You’ll then need to activate Wi-Fi Calling. To do this:

 

  • Go to Settings-> Phone-> Wi-Fi Calling
  • Toggle the ‘Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone’ switch to ‘on’
  • Tap ‘Enable’ at the prompt ‘Enable Wi-Fi Calling?’

I ve been trying to sort this out on my S7edge for over a week and technical on the phone eventually sent me to Samsung Customer service who confirm it is a Vodaphone issue. After txt asking for sent up and getting the "thank you......." reply saying it is set up, I still do not get the option of Wi-Fi Calliing in the settings/applications/phone menu.

Did you purchase the phone directly from Vodafone and not SIM free or through a third party?

Just to say, I have the same thing. S7 Edge, no option in phone settings to enable Wifi calling.

 

Mine is pay monthly contract with the phone, so direct from you guys. I've checked software updates, says I have the latest version.
