Hello,
I have a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 and would like to use the wireless hotspot facility to connect my laptop for extended periods. It works very well in principle, but the WiFi hotspot keeps "cutting out" every few minutes.
During an online chat with a Vodafone representative yesterday I received the following instructions:
Please follow the bellow steps on your handset and the issue should be resolved
Please go to your phone settings and change the network mode to 2g , then manually select the network as o2 and then Vodafone Once that is done please put the phone of flight mode for 30 seconds and then remove it
next step is switch off the handset and remove the SIM after 2 minutes please reinsert the SIM and restart the handset
then change the network mode back to 4G
Unfortunately, so far I have been unable to resolve the issue.

The advice given is basically to refresh Network Connection.
If this was my situation I'd also check in the phones settings.
It maybe beneficial to try your sim card in an alternative phone to see if it's the phone or sim card that's at issue.
I'm sure your aware but please take into account that using your data allowance to connect a lap top will both drain the phones battery and your Vodafone Data Allowance quite quickly as a lap top accesses richer pages.

Yes, I'm aware that the wireless hotsput drains the battery and my data allowance.
Is there an option to make the re-enable the hotspot automatically if/when it cuts out?

I'm not aware of any additional apps available to help.
If their isn't anything in your phones settings then you'd need to keep manually re enabling.

Just checked my s7 edge and it has a timeout feature in settings under mobile hot spot
There may / may not be something similar in your phones settings.

Thanks for your reply. I can't see a timeout setting under "Tethering & portable hotspot".

It maybe handset dependant then.
I cannot find any similar settings in the user manual either.
