Wireless printer cannot connect to wifi after several attempts

I have a wireless Epson printer and have not been able to connect it to the wifi on my Vodafone connect router.

I can use and print out from the printer by connecting through the printer USb port so the printer is working fine.

I have been in touch with epson customer support and have ran through the setup procedure on two separate occasions tohelp to connect the printer to the wifi. We have been unable to connect it and epson support have advised me to contact vodafone to allow access from the printer.

My question is :  Do vodafone put an access restriction on ancillary items and can this be removed or allow access from the printer via 192.168.1.1?

I have been in touch with vodafone this morning who talked me through how to change the frequency in wifi from 2.4/5ghz to 2.4ghz.

But the guy on the phone was not making any sense as it asked for a key when I pressed the apply button . he only said i had to turn the router off and back on again and wait 30 minutes before trying again.

Im getting increasingky sick of this and would be grateful for some knowledgeable help.

regards,

Baz

Hi @Bazbro90

I have a Cannon Printer with WiFi connection capabilities and when trying to hook it up to my Bt Home Hub 6 its very much hit and miss affair and imo not a Vodafone Router issue.

I've troubleshooted this to death ! From changing wireless channel and splitting the routers frequencies.

I too mostly end up connecting using the cable.

I've concluded sometimes this type of connection sometimes for whatever reason just isn't stable enough.

Not sure I can give a definitive answer but I have had several Epson printers and they can be a real pain to connect.

I usually end up uninstalling the printer completely and then reinstalling it either by using the setup disk or from the Epson website. Use an uninstaller like Revo which will completely remove it and any hidden registry keys. Make sure the icons have gone from file explorer. Restart your PC and if that does not work restart your router.

A bit time consuming but usually works.
