Youtube Uploader Error

Hi There

I am a regular user of youtube and recently i have been getting errors while trying to upload to youtube. I tried to upload using my landline and had no trouble.

I have tried almost every browser and it still seems to say Error with no description of the error.

I can use the multi uploader but this is very glitchy and sometimes can ruin my videos so i want to stay clear of this

Not to sure what else i can tell you other than i use Vista Home Premium (32 - Bit)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Gothic

what speeds and signal strength are you getting over Mobile Broadband? I always found it needed to be quite high for YouTube uploads over mobile compared to landine with all other sites, apps, updates switched off (then again my Sky Broadband landline was actually worse than MB!!)

Vodafone customer since 2004. Attempting to help where I can on the Community

Hi Gothic,

Redpages asks some good questions here. Can you let us know the speed and signal strength you're connecting at?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't use the VMC sofware but my mobile broadband is alot faster than my landline. I get around 500kbps download speed (my landline gets about 260 at max XD) so somehow i doubt it's the connection. Also if it was the connection, why would it all of a sudden not work?

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but it is rather annoying.

Hi Gothic,

If you're not using VMC, we can't get an accurate picture of your signal strength, which could be important here. Could you try loading VMC and seeing whether you're getting more than three bars on 3G?

If the signal strength is less than this, it indicates an unstable connection - even though your download speeds are good, your upload speed is usually considerably lower, and if the connection is dropping packets, it may be responsible for the YouTube error.

You say it's been working fine before? Can you give us an idea of roughly when the problem first started?

Hi Jon

I loaded up VMC and i have 2 bars of signal. My upload speed is fine. I upload to mediafire with no problems. This started occuring around 2 weeks ago.

I hope this problem can get sorted out. Other than this your service is great :D

Thanks in advance

Hi Gothic,

Okay, I've checked the site nearest to the post code in your profile and it seems to working as we'd expect.

Could you tell what uploads speeds you're getting and when you're getting these as it maybe a case of the connection being to slow for uploads to youtube?

Have you tried to upload during different times of the day at all and if so could you let us know when and what happens?

Thanks,

Lee

I know for a fact that it is not the speed. My landline is ALOT slower than my mobile broadband and yet that seems to have no problems. I have tried uploading all time of the day and still no avail

Hi Gothic,

Would you be able to show us a screen shot of the error message you're getting from Youtube? It sounds to me the error is really lacking in description but to get a first-hand look at this would really help :) Also if you can show me the URL that comes up when the error appears :)

Have you tried uploading a fairly small video file? I'm just wondering if this is a timeout issue which a small video would hopefully avoid.

Thanks,

Adam
