I currently have 3GB of data allowance for my mobile broadband, for my laptop this is not enough as I last month went over my allowance and was charged a ridiculous amount extra.

is it possible to  increase my data allowance from 3GB to 5GB

thanks

You are joking of course. When I bought my PAYG dongle I was allowed 3gig/mth for £15 but Vodafone in their wisdom reduced it to 2gig for the same price! You honestly don't think that they'd increase your data allowance, do you?

I'd have thought it depends on whether there is a 5GB tariff available; if it's an upgrade to a more expensive tariff, I'd have thought it would be reasonably easy?

Hi neil-NA

Thanks for your post. There isn't a higher mobile broadband price plan available for consumers, however they are available for business. If you're eligible for a business line you can find the available price plans online here - Vodafone Mobile Broadband for Business

Thanks

Simon

Hi, same topic (data allowance increase), but different scenario!

I had a trial run of 4G and an extra 500mb of data, which expired in mid-January. I was offered, by text message, on 20 January, the same deal, but for an extra £4 per month on top of my plan. On 20 January, I replied yes, and received a text reply thanking me for requesting to have the offer added to my plan, and that I'd be contacted to let me know when it had been applied.

So far, I've not heard anything and there are no updates or notifications in my "My Vodafone", either on the PC or on my phone. I'm back to using 3G and I miss 4G

How can I find out when the offer will be applied?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, when its applied  I think it will appear on the my vodafone app as an extra.

to find out whats happening in the mean time I would try livechat to see if they can help, that will be your quickest route.

Thankyou! Wasn't sure if Live Chat would be much use, but I shall give it a go!

I recently finished a 3 month free 4G trial which included an extra 500MB of data. A week or so before the trial finished I received a text message with the offer to retain these extras for £4 per month. As I was already paying an additional £3 per month for a 500MB data extra I called 191 before the trial finished to accept the offer and cancel the existing data extra.

While I was quite happy to effectively pay the extra £1 per month to get 4G I was told that I could cancel the data extra and retain the 4G and 500MB of data for free. After checking 3 times that this was the case I ended the call a very happy and satisfied Vodafone customer.

When I received my next bill as promised the £3 charge for the 500MB data extra had been removed but I had lost 4G (which I had continued to enjoy beyond the end of the trial until my next bill date). I called 191 to query this but was told that retaining 4G was not mentioned on my account.

A few hours ago I received another text message saying I could regain access to 4G plus an extra 500MB of data for £4 per month. Was this ever a genuine offer or did it have strings attached?

As I am happy with the amount of data I currently have and would like 4G as it provides a more reliable signal where I live could you please advise the best way forward.
