did your samsung s7 edge arrive with broken seals

we did an upgrade and we ordered a samsung s7 edge ,so far vodaphone has sent me 3 exchance phones with the seal broken , all been sent back to vodaphone ,i have been on to samung and samsung have wrote back to me and said do not accept the phones if the seal are broken because they may be refurbished phone and you should send the phones back to vodaphone

vodaphone answer to this is " we can not send any phones out with the seal intacted because they have all came like it from samsung  and the best thing to do is cancel your contract "

at the time of writing this im still waiting for a manager to ring me

There was some posts about this on their launch.

Vodafone released a statement that it was Samsung that had broken the seals themselves.

samsung has advised if you have ordered a new s7 edge phone and you have received a s7 edge from vodafone with the seal on the box broken ,then you should send the phone back to vodafone because the phone may be a refurbished phone and do not accept if the seals are broken

so far vodafone has sent me 3 of these unseals phones and all have been sent back

vodafone answer is " sorry we can not send you a phone with the seals intacted and the best thing to do is cancel your contract

If your within your 30 day cooling off period you could cancel the upgrade , wait until the account status returns to pre upgrade and then if local and convenient uograde in a Vodafone Highstreet Store.

Being pro active and asking in the Vodafone Highstreet Store first if their handset box seals are intact.

That isn't correct.  If Vodafone supply a refurbished phone, it would be supplied as a warranty replacement or openly sold as "nearly new".  They do not put refurbished handsets into new boxes.

Similar nonsensical accusations were made when Vodafone went through a phase of putting handsets into their own boxes.  All of these accusations were unfounded.

Not the greatest advice from them, and it should be taken with a pinch of salt or perhaps the entire salt mine....

im sorry if you feel like this but it looks like your salt mine is selling sugar because this is advise direct from samsung not from any 3rd party ,if it was not true then samsung would not have said it for legal reasons

Hi @neumann

I'm not insinuating the information given to you from Samsung is wrong.

Whats possibly happned is you've spoken with a frontline Samsung Customer service agent who's automatic answer would probably be they dont open phone boxes.

The forum announcement from Vodafone I assume will have come from them talking to some backend higher up level who deal with providing lots of units to the networks.

A recent example of miscommunication I can give you regarding Samsung is ->

I'm interested in purchasing the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge soon as Sim Free. One question I had was is there any cooling off period.

Samsung customer service via there Live Chat and telephone support said 14 days. I mentioned I knew about the 30 day faulty returns for the phone but specifically asked about the cooling off period. They re confirmed. I advised I was purchasing in a shop and not online so the distance selling act wouldn't be applicable. Again they confirmed.

I popped into the dedicated Samsung Shop in my City Centre and they looked puzzled and said there wasn't a cooling off period.
