Hi Xolaniss,

Firstly welcome to the eForum, always a pleasure to see new faces on here :)

I can only assume you mean a guide to trying to fix what is causing the error 608. I wasn't sure on what the resolution for this was at first, so I have done some investigating and have found some information about it and a step by step guide for you to follow which should resolve it for you.

  • Go into my computer > dial up networking > right click on dialer > goto properties.
  • check correct modem is selected in connect using. If incorrect click on drop down list and pick correct modem.
  • click on OK and try connecting again.
  • If that fails go into control panel > modems > check to see if correct modem is installed. if not remove modem and re-install.
  • If that does not work try creating a new dialer.
Give that a try and see how you get on :)

If you need help with anything further please get in touch

    Kind regards

    Thanks for replying.

I clueless as to implementing your instruction. I am using windows vista. I ma using a Toshiba satellite laptop. I am using the K3765 modern. The modem gives me an error code 608 when I try to connect. I tried your solution but I could not find any of the places the instruction sent me to.

I think the problem is that the K3765 is not a dial up modem but a network emulator. The laptop is not able to use it as a network emulator.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Hi Xolaniss,

Shame to read that Katrina's advice didn't help. Can you try downloading and installing the latest full Vodafone Mobile Connect suite, which contains a number of Windows 7 compatibility fixes, such as updated drivers to be recognised etc...

After installing, please reboot and retry.

Failing this, let me know and I'll have a work with one of our Windows experts who may be able to shed some light on the matter!

    Hi xolaniss.

    It's annoying when this happens.

I've just tested the download on my computer and my dell mini 9 and it worked fine on both.

Have you tried downloading this via a 3rd party connection?

    All the best

    yes.

I've tried it several times and each time it cuts of for no reason.

    Hi xolaniss,

Hmmm, how strange that you're unable to download the latest VMC software . If you're unable to download this then I'd recommend taking a look at the error 608 troubleshooting guide that I've attached to this post. It contains all of the known fixes for this issue.

Let me know how you get on :).

    Hi...

Thanks for the guide it solved the error code 608 problem. Thanks.

However I have another problem now with " IP conflict". My system only allows me to the internet only until there is an IP conflict.

    I have tried ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew. Not working.

I have changed setting to "detect IP automatically". Not working.

    Please help.

    Hi there xolaniss,

Shame to read that you're suffering a new problem :(

As the issue at hand drifts out of Mobile Broadband territory and more into Windows networking lands, there's not anything further I personally could advise. Although we aren't Accredited Microsoft Windows technicians, we do have many in the community that are very talented - perhaps someone can advise a fix for this?

It's a shame I can't offer more right now, but if you can keep us posted with as much detail as possible, it may continue to give us clues as to what's going on - things like screenshots help too!
