Will the new iphones be locked or unlocked?

Phones supplied by Vodafone are locked to their Networks.

As BOB says if ordered from Vodafone they will be licked to them, direct from Apple not locked

You can apply to VF after 12 months to have it unlocked. Apple will do it via iTunes and you'll get an email from VF. Takes about 3 days / worth remembering if you're selling an old iPhone as they're normally worth a bit more unlocked

Vodafone like to charge £19.99 for the priviledge but after 12 months it should be free.

It's £19.99 for Pay as You Go.

It's no charge to Contract Custoners.

I;m on a contract and just recieved the said bill.. will call them next week to discuss when they get the launch out the way.

My contract expired on the 19th Sept and got the unlock code on the 21st Sept. 

They did they same thing last year (and the year before) just a hassle to deal with but that's mobile phone operators for you :).
