Still waiting on Vodafone to come back to me - it is taking longer than they said. Got friend with the same problem who has just been told theirs isnt covered by warrantee as there is a crack in casing although both Vodafone shop staff and owners couldnt see any cracks.
Keep your fingers crossed

I'm still having a number of the issues with this.
I've just tried chasing the update again and pretty much been told its not down to vodafone and that what I'm saying isn't true.
"Vodafone has nothing to do with the software update"
Seriously I'm ready throw this phone!

My email started crashing ever since the Lollipop update. It is very frustrating as this is a work phone and I rely on this functionality. It often happens when I am deleting an email. The native app hangs and then crashes with the message: 'Unfortunately, email has stopped working'.
It is very unfortunate and extremely annoying.
I have wiped the cache, re-installed the my email account, etc. but the mail app still randomly crashes.
Vodafone - is this a known issue and are you proposing to do anything about it?

After doing the update, did you perform a factory reset of the device? If not that could be a very good place to start.

@ drey_p
Thanks for the response. No I have not performed a factory reset. In my mind, this is a last resort and we should not really have to go to that extreme following an OTA update.
The main reason I have resisted is because our corporate email access is secured by Fiberlink Maas360. Which means I would have to go through the whole registration process again in order to setup my mail.. reinstalling Maas360 as well as configuring mail.
I need to know: is factory reset my only option or will an upcoming software update fix this issue?

The received wisdom is that after any OS upgrade, especially a major one, a factory reset is adviseable. This is more true of Samsung for some reason that other Androd handsets.

The factory reset maybe advisable but alot of hassle if it does absolutely nothing. Like it did for me!
Battery life still sucks, still get crashes all the time on messages & emails.
The service I've received from Vodafone has been poor at best and when it comes to renewal time I know Vodafone are going to lose my business and along with my wifes thats the best part of £80 per month!

I know how you feel .. but i have said this sort of thing to vodafone in the past .. and they dont really care if you leave or not .. it appears the phrase "valued customer " no longer applies .. and the only one they seem bothered about is "NEW CUSTOMER" .... seek some advice or try to speak to someone from retentions .. the firmware issue is one vodafone never deal with and are always last to sort for some reason !! ... i had the same with all my previous phones .. samsung , HTC , Nokia ... firmware was always late .. or in some cases never appeared at all .. bearing in mind the S6 is out .. it appears they really cant be bothered anymore
