anyone else on here having untols problems. issues etc with the latest marshmallow 6.0.1 update via Android on their phones, specifically the Samsung A3 (2016)..?
Mine updated over the weekend and it's made the phone totally unuseable - it gets hot (doing nothing), loses battery charge (again, doing nothing...), takes forever to loads apps, connect to internet, now I can't stream videos or music via YouTube etc, all predictive text via text messaging and/or whatsapp has been lost, no keyboard to text or format any messaging (including e-mails) has been intermittent at best. I'm sure you get the message (no pun intended...).
Having done live chat x2 today and been told on both occasiosn that my local Vodafone shop could sort this, imagine my surprise and slight disgust when I indeed went to my local Vodafone shop in Leamington Spa and was told that short of sending the phone back to Vodafone to put things right, this is my only option, other than engaging direct with Samsung to complain.
Anyone else with a similar story? And how can this be right to send out such a shockingly bad software update that renders a mobile phone totally useable?
Thanks. And feedback, tips etc welcome.
Simon

Hi,
I'm using the latest MM on my Samsung S7 edge (unbranded) with none of those issues.
Whats the % of storage left in the phone ? I ask because if it's close to full that can have adverse effects.
Have you tried clearing the system cache first.
Or if that fails to help then back up, remove any sd card if applicable and Factory Reset.
A Highstreet shop would only be able to send it off if a simple turn off and on does not help.
A Samsung Service Location if you have one local could take a look and or online Samsung Uk support could help and advise.

5GB of spare storage, 11GB used, saying that 1.19GB of cached data (whatever that means)

Hi,
I believe cached is used for future updates. I'll check on that

Plenty of onboard storage and the 1.5gb of Ram should be ample.
Maybe do consider the clearing of system cache if your phone allows this and or factory reset to remove junk files.
