I would suggest going into a vodafone store to do this again just in case. There is one thing I would personally try before that if you have this option - If you are able to use your old phone with the old sim card dial 191 and follow the options there to speak to someone to get it sorted.

Other people might advise you to call an 0870 from a landline. I found I was waiting listening to music and getting nowhere doing that which is why I advise going to the most convenient vodafone store if you cannot do the other suggestion.

Hi Mr Berwick,

I'm just dropping a line to my previous email.

I've heard from our team that they've raised it with a reference number INC000001197224.

They're currently investigating into it and will resolve it as soon as they can.

Thanks,

This is really unusual and it would seem that there's a problem with either the number or the account.  If you speak to anyone again, raise the question of a refund for the time you've been without a working connection.   I'm not in a position to promise anything, but I'd say you're in with a good chance.

lol they gave me £10  as i am sim card only lol

Depending on what level you're on, that could equate to a month's usage.  Any refund will only relate to the time you're without service.  Don't expect to be able to by a Ferrari and a luxury holiday on the proceeds! :smileylol:

I'm afraid I'm a bit at sea here - it's really the complexity of the charges, and how to get the best value for a deal to suit the individual, where I'm most at home.

But I have noticed 2 or 3 cases recently on the PAYG Board of SIM swaps to a micro SIM that have become somewhat protracted, to say the least. I've had a quick look back over the past few days, and one of the cases suddenly resolved itself, but the other(s) appear still to be running. And there was someone on one of the Device Boards bemoaning the fact that he had left his old SIM in the store for recycling, and the new one hadn't activated after some while!

There aren't enough cases for it to amount to evidence of a specific problem, but I'm inclined to keep an eye out for signs of further trouble. With so many of the newer phones requiring the smaller SIMs, an epidemic of these problems would not be good news.

Well i am beinginig to think i am jinx'd or vodafone doesnt like me , i again pop down to the vodafone branch  spoke to the young lass who had seen me sat , again explained that my new new sim card had not been activated, she got on the phone to the head office  and was told the system was down and she could not get any  information  or details. Would you believe it so i shall have to phone them again tomorrow . will keep you updated

Hi JohnBerwick,

If you provide me with the [#7xxxxxx] reference we’ll look into this for you.

Thanks,

Sarah

i popped into the local vodafone shop at 12:11 and sat with the manager for 1 hr, who was  talking with pay you go staff , have been told  it will be activated within the next 24 hrs. we shall see.

Sarah  where do i find the #7xxxxxx]  ref the only ref number i have  that maybe linked to this is   INC000001197224.

This process  has now been on going for two weeks  and i have been given  2 x sim card and still waiting on the last one being activated , all i was told it has sat there with (pending). we shall see tomorrow  if its finally been fixed as i have been in the shop 4 x times online chat and customer care has phoned me god knows how many times.  In a word its pathetic
