signal problem

hskswm
Not applicable
I am using iphone 4 with a 12-month contract. Recently I found that my iphone's battery is much worse than what I expected. And there is dot instead of a 3G symbol at the rear of 'vodafone UK' on the top left of iphone. I guess it is probably due to the poor signal in my living area because iphone was using its battery power to search the signal.

My post code is NG9 2UX.

Can you check whether there is a signal problem in my living area? if there is a signal problem can I use sure signal to boost my phone signal by using nottingham university network?

Thanks.

Hi hskswm and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I can appreciate how frustrating it must be for you.

I've just checked your coverage in your area and there are currently no problems with the surrounding cell sites that I can see. Can you confirm if you are able to get 3G coverage outside of your home?

If your iPhone is draining its battery quickly its probably advisable to put the phone onto GSM only - Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G>Off

This will prevent your phone from constantly searching for 3G coverage.

You can indeed use a Sure Signal to give you 3G coverage. All you need is a broadband connection :)

Please let me know if you have any more questions and we'll be more than happy to help you further

Thanks

Wayne
