My phone is the sony experia z3 and i have had it since late last year. i have also never had any problems with it until today. It was running fine this morning until i finished work, i noticed i had an update available which was facebook and as i dont like to leave the updates to just build up, i decided to update it and then soon after that the touch screen started messing up to the point where i just couldnt access my phone as i have one of those pattern type passwords and i couldnt get passed it. i have tried turning it off and on repeatedly and i even tried taking my sim card out and nothing it working. No idea what to do!

Hi @Amympr

Sometimes deleting the rogue app can help if the phone can be accessed.

Another option is if a soft reset by turning the phone off does not help is a factory reset if the phones menu can be accessed.

If it cannot be accessed then a Hard Reset which is achieved by a series of buttons presses may help.

Turn off the phone.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys for 10 seconds until the green Android logo displays.
Use the Volume keys to highlight Factory Reset.
Press the Power key to select.
Use the Volume keys to highlight 'Yes', then press the Power key to confirm.
The device will reset and restart.

For either this may delete the information in the phones storage memory so a back up is recommended.

Hi Amympr

If you are able to get into one of our stores, an agent can take a look at it for you to assess the problem and get it resolved.

Before you go through the hassle of a reset, you could try clearing recent apps (the button beside the home button, the one that's not the back button) and also app caches (in Settings|Storage).   It's just possible that will do something.
