I only have a simple phone and have no experience of using mobile data. However I am shortly going abroad for a few weeks with no internet access and wish to use my Vodafone sim card in a mobile wifi device on my laptop. Do I need any special bundle for this, or can I just topup and transfer my normal card?

Hello @Jubilado
If you are on PAYG, you won't be able to tether in the UK or abroad, you have to be on a contract.
You should be able to use the SIM in your mobile WiFi but it could be very expensive. You will be paying the roaming charges for downloading full pages of internet.

Hi
You should be able to lift any relevant abroad account bars in your myvodafone in order to use your phone.
Look at http://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/costs/travelling-abroad/index.htm
Has any Mobile wifi device been acquired through Vodafone? If not you'll need to see if it's unlocked to accept your Vodafone SIM card.
You could look at http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/mShop/mobile-broadband-and-internet/devices/vodafone-r207-payg

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.
