2 Acivation days missed, Old Home Owners phone still connected

I ordered Vodafone Broadband (fttc) and home voice on 6th November and got an activation date of the 18th Nov.  When no activation happened I used the live chat and was told of some engineering work in area and given new activation of 22nd Nov.  This too has passed with no activation.

I bought and moved into this house 2 weeks ago and the old owners landline is still active with their number.  I'm at a loss what to do.  Do I have to contact Openreach, the old owners of this property or get in contact with someone at Vodafone to sort this out?

@southbolivia - I'm sorry to hear there's been a delay in your activation. My team can check what's happening. We'll just need to take some details from you. Please contact us through Social Media

If the previous owners haven't cancelled their service, I would think that would delay your takeover of the line.

i ordered fttp from Vodafone on 26th July, it was finally installed and activated on 4th Nov.
Cancel and go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else. if you can.

A lot of the delays were due to Openreach and their strikes etc, but Vodafone was beyond incompetent, In 4 months they rang me once, i chased and chased and chased them for info. wish id just canceled and gone somewhere else, Save yourself while you still can.
