Just switched to Vodafone FTTC.
First annoyance is that not till the end of the sign up process did I discover the ported landline number is going to be digital voice while my current provider was going to keep it copper for a while longer.
Second annoyance is an email saying:
"Just to let you know, your online account is almost ready. All you need to do to activate your account, is log in using the details below:"
And not being able to log into that account. After wasting half an hour in online chat with support I learn I can't log in until the service is activated in about 2 weeks. Why send me log in details 2 weeks before I can use them? Why not mention this in the email? Why do I have to wait to access the account anyway? Already beginning to regret switching.
I am happy with my current Billion VDSL modem/router. I was going to say don't bother sending me a hub before finding out it was digital voice and possibly needing it. Thinking I might use the Power hub I decide to find out what it can do and look and fail to find a user manual or guide. Searching for information about it I discover the wifi is a bit crap (I do have some dual band clients) and the user interface is dumb/crippled and it has no modem mode. Also it sounds like you might need a phone app to fully configure it?
Is there a user manual for the Power hub?
Does it have a firewall?
Does it support port forwarding?
If I keep the Billion how/where do I get log in information?
Is the vodafone digital voice a SIP service? Could I use a SIP client on an android phone (I already do with a SIPgate account). If so how/where do I get log in information?
