3 flashing lights no internet after one hour

So I had my install yesterday all went well and the Openreach engineer left. after one hour the Power, Internet, and wifi light started to flash so I left it for a while thinking it was just settling down. after a few hours, it was still doing it so I turned it off and back on and everything was ok.

After another hour the same thing happened so I turned it off and back on and everything was ok again until an hour then back to the 3 flashing lights.

I spoke to a technical who videoed in and told me to connect the supplied filter directly to the test socket and leave it connected like this for 9 to 10 days but an hour later back to 3 flashing lights and no internet again, at 10 pm I just left it to see if anything would change overnight. Woke this morning to it being the same with just the 3 flashing lights and no internet.

Has anyone had this problem and had it resolved, I spoke with an online agent this morning which was a complete waste of time. I asked when does my cooling off period start? He said the activation date. Surely you can't evaluate a service that hasn't worked since day one?

Hi

I only have 3 lights on mine, POWER, INTERNET and WI-FI methinks.

Therefore the power should be stable, as should the Wi-Fi with any luck the BB also.

So you could have a dodgy Router.

Can you remote into it 192.168.1.1?

Request a replacement router based on the power light flashing etc as it must be indicating a fault.

I am trying to tell them it's the router, but keep getting the same response from each person I speak to. Really getting peed off with it.

Yes, I can remote into it. Just been talking to support again and they have asked me to monitor it for the next 24hours after resetting it at 13:00 today, but at 14:00 the lights are going to start flashing again and no internet. What an absolute joke.

Hi

It's 08080  034515

Ask the person who answers if it alright if you shout and swear at them because you are very angry, if not put you through to someone else to whom you can.

Then outline your problem.

Works for me.

I rang and asked to cancel and low and behold someone English answered, but still got passed to BB support and spoke with someone none English who could hardly understand me or me them 🤬

This is exactly my problem too, I’ve had 4 open reach visits but so far any suggestion of a fault with the router has been dismissed. Considering buying a third party router if it could solve the problem - I’ve posted a question asking just that.

Totally agree with @clint_flick, faulty router or power supply.
