I have bought a new build property, built next to an existing property. The address is registered with Royal Mail. Being the first occupier I need a land line installed. I have tried asking Vodafone to this for the broadband I wish to have from you but you say it is not possible ? I cannot get any further....the rest of the houses in the street have been there 60 years and all have phone lines and broadband.

Hi @Phoebenooby I'm sorry to hear you're having some issues here! Have you spoken to our Broadband team directly? They can be reached on 0333 3040 191.

Hi
i spoke to mulhammed on the website who said Vodafone doesn’t provide broadband in my area as it’s not registered with open reach. The property I am buying is in a road that other houses have been there 60 years

Thanks for confirming @Phoebenooby. As the issues lays with Openreach, I'd recommend contacting them directly to get your property registered correctly.

Looks like the builder/developer should have done this at least 6 months ago.

Openreach have some help here:
https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/problems-and-appointments/broadband-in-new-build-homes
and a form for reporting problems if a broadband provider has said you can’t order it
https://www.openreach.com/copper-or-fibre-broadband-problems-in-new-build-home-form
Have you tried any other providers as they seem to be able to handle these sort of queries better than Vodafone? (To be honest they seem to do everything better than Vodafone)

Thank you, the builder did register the property and has a ref number from a year ago. I think the problem might be the property address on the form was “adj to no 25” and it is registered with Royal Mail as 25a now, a separate address from the house next door (no 25) which is correct.

Hi
So you don't have a GOLD address, but Openreach can and do work with less.
The address reference number returned by the Address Matching Dialogue Service is a 12 character key and
will be in the following format:
© British Telecommunications PLC Page 11
Gold ALK
1 Alpha - 11 Numeric
Silver or Bronze ALK
x = an alphabetic value indicating if the key is Silver (S) or Bronze (B)
yy = Numeric value for current year (e.g. 13 = 2013)
ddd = Julian day value for current day (e.g. 007 = 7th January, 365 = 31st December)
nnnnnn = Sequential number uniquely allocated that day to Temporary Key (e.g. 000001 = First
Temporary Key created that day)
However as Jayach has given comprehensive links you should be able to get broadband.
Try alternates like... https://www.aa.net.uk/
and The address checker here.
If in doubt please ask.
