Broadband router not working & only the red power light is on

No broadband and the box is only showing one red power light and no others.

Have run a test using the app and it shows a problem.

Still waiting for someone to contact me from the technical team.

The back up dongle also does not work so clearly something is wrong with the box.

I have reset, powered down box but still nothing

If you have a PSU from a previous ISP router, I would just give it a try, check the voltage is the same, but most are.

I have exactly the same issue. Started Friday night. Done factory reset but that hasn't made any difference.

The only light is the red power light. Occasionally all the other lights flash once but then nothing connects.

I think the router is at fault as my connected wired PC sees nothing and I can't browse to the router home screen.

I'm waiting for second line support to contact me but suspect it'll be a router swap.

I have full fibre 100.

@Norfolk2028 @Norfolk2028 any updates?

Second line support rang me on Monday and we went through a few checks.

In the meantime I borrowed a Netgear router and with the help of Vodafone support got it connected to the fibre which proves the router is the issue.

They are sending me a replacement router and I have also ordered one off eBay for under a fiver. I'll keep that as a backup if this happens again.

Vodafone support have been helpful when I have spoken to them and the Tobi chat has worked well.

That's good - a happier ending. Glad you're sorted :Winking_smiley:

I will be when the new router turns up in a few days. The WiFi range on this Netgear I've borrowed isn't as good as the Vodafone router. Probably half the range.

It's possibly the PSU that is faulty, if they are compatible (most are nowadays) you could try the Netgear one of the Vodafone router.

The eBay router has arrived and the PSU from that gives the same issues so I can rule that out.

I've got the eBay Vodafone router plugged in but can't see where I can enter the DSL credentials which Vodafone told me. These worked on the Netgear but I wonder if they are built in to the Vodafone routers and you can't change them. I'm in expert mode on the router.

Annoying that the replacement router from Vodafone is taking longer to arrive than the one I got off eBay!

You can't enter the PPPoE details directly. The setting are made from vodafone's end the first time it connects for provisioning. Keeping it plugged in reset it with the pinhole at the back and wait to see if it gets provisioned. It's likely it'll reboot a couple of times for this process to complete so leave it to do it's thing for about 15 minutes.
