Since moving to vodafone from bt getting constant drops in connection. Lots of errors in the logs. Spoke to tech support and they were useless. Wish i stayed with BT. What is a good third party router.

This sounds EXACTLY like my story...so much so that I had to check it wasn’t me who wrote it. Sooo familiar! The TO link removal made no difference (apart from poorer internet in some rooms 🤬)

I turned off the VF wifi boosters as it was hampering wifi performance across all nodes, as if there was some sort of load balancing/speed limiting going on. Since they were removed the expected speeds have returned. But as you say, it's at the expense of a poorer signal.

I may, reluctantly, look into replacing the router with my own to improve wifi coverage without using boosters of any kind.

I am beginning to wonder if there are capacity problems emerging here, I mean, why re route my connection via Manchester? Is it too congested via London?

Rebooting the ONT and router had no effect whatsoever - I saw packet loss earlier on the BQM.

I also reconnected several times to get new IP addresses and they still route via Manchester.

All due to a supposedly dodgy ethernet cable between the router and ONT?

Still, I'll give it a go anyway, I needed a long ethernet cable anyway. And apparently that's what needs to be done in order for this to be escalated to CityFibre!

I found online chat to be useless - but calling the UK based team made all the difference. I might call them again today,

Meanwhile, another day, another dropped connection. Only this time, latency has shot up and now I have VM's latency level that I thought I got away from!
