Fire tv 4K Max only connects to 5G not 6G

I have just installed the new ultra 6e router everything working fine except fire tv 4k max only connects to Wifi 5G not 6G any help welcome 

Ps has anyone got the firetv stick 4K max to connect to 6G

Do you have other devices that are connecting to 6G? If so, it may be the Firestick that is the problem.

No only fire tv 4 k max  which should connect to 6G according to specs

Yes, the specs do say it is 6G.

Unfortunately, without any other 6G devices, I can't think of a way to establish if it is the router or the Firestick at fault.

Edit. I got that wrong, the specs say it is Wi-Fi6, not 6G. The abbreviations are getting complicated.

Is it not up to the Firestick 4K Max to decide that? I'm not sure it can use 6E, it just says Wi-Fi 6 in the specs.

If it's on 6GHz then it's WiFi 6E, if it's just on WiFi6(AX) then it's still 5GHz!

Are you assuming it is Wi-Fi 5 because it is using 5ghz?

This https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_6 suggests 6GHz in USA only, which is not what I was expecting. But this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#6_GHz_(802.11ax) says that 6GHz is approved by Ofcom. Is it any wonder that there is an amount of confusion.

 I have now solved my post I contacted  at 1 am Amazon via amazon firestick chat https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/contact-us amazing 24/7 service  

below is part of the conversation

I checked here, the 6 GHz wifi network is for devices compatible to wifi 6E.
unfortunately the fire stick that you have is only compatible to up to wifi 6 which is until 5 GHz.

me so that is why it wont connect at least your have solved my problem

If you're looking for fire stick that can connect to wifi 6E, I recommend the Fire tv cube.

me yet I see youtube vids of connecting firestick 4 k to wifi 6
so are they only conecting to wifi 5 although they say speed increases

Okay, technically your fire stick is already Wifi 6 enabled. It can only connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
The 6 GHz network is only for devices that are wifi 6E enabled.
For example, the fire TV cube on the link I've provided.
You'll see there on the device description that its WiFi 6E compatible.
If you'll compare it to your fire stick, you'll see that its WiFi 6 only.

very confusing Wifi 6 and 6e but hope this enlightens us a bit more
