Hi,
I've just had Gigafast Pro Xtra installed today and the router is awful is expected. Unfortunately I do need the phone line.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible to get rid of the Vodafone router entirely and still keep the phone line? After doing a few hours of research on here I think the answer to this is no but please correct me if I'm wrong
2) If the answer to the above is no, is it possible for me to set up another router in access point mode (connected to the Vodafone router via Ethernet)? Intention here would be to turn off WiFi on the Vodafone router and connect to the access point only. If so, does anyone have any recommendations for a good access point router and can I have multiple?
Thanks in advance

Very valid point @CrimsonLiar
My hesitance comes from a bad experience with a couple of IP cameras (IoT) getting hacked so maybe I'm just biased against anything Chinese. Tp-link may be made in China too for all I know, but the firmware and hardware come under a lot of non-Chinese scrutiny. Maybe I should make me a tinfoil hat 🤣

So just to confirm, you're not sure if what I'm suggesting is possible (i.e. One of these connected via ethernet to the VF router and a secondary deco connected wirelessly to the first to improve range upstairs?)
Without knowing those routers (HUAWEI AX3), I would very much doubt you could connect them together wirelessly. That would be like trying to create a mesh, and a proper mesh would be much better.
And, if you are going to use the Deco's, why not just have a pair of them in access mode?

Yeah after doing a bit more research I think I will go for something like the Decos in access point mode.
Does anyone have any experience with the m4s - what speed can I expect to get? I realise they're not WiFi 6 so I won't get near the 900mbps I'm paying for but would be good to know what to expect.
