About 3 days ago in the early hours the internet went off and didn't come back on again but I went to sleep. The next morning it was really odd, sometimes not connecting to the wifi, other times connected but no internet. When the internet did work it was patchy, going to websites it wouldn't load all the pictures. The connection would stop and start on downloads then completely disconnect. I changed the DNS server on router, I was using cloudflare but then went back to using vodafones, no change, it was affecting more than websites anyway.
We have FTTH, full fibre and the connection was great for 5+ months. I also use my own router TP link Archer AX72. I rebooted the router and turned it off at the wall (which includes ONT) multiple times, sometimes it would work OK for half an hour then went glitchy again. I got out the vodafone router and connected that up as I thought I would have to phone vodafone and everything seemed fine for 40 mins, no disconnections or glitches, so I went back to my Archer router and that has been fine too since this morning.
I don't know what was wrong, I thought perhaps the Archer router overheated and needed time to cool down?! (I think it has heatsinks in it and when it started going wrong at 1am it's not that hot) or plugging in the vodafone router for an hr fixed my line? Perhaps it was trying to push a firmware update to the vodafone router and my router didn't like that?!
Can't explain it, anyone heard of something similar?

I’ve had this happen 3 times now. Using Vodafone router, Vodafone haven’t got a clue and now I’m waiting for an engineer as it’s happened again tonight. I’m expecting it to fix itself again overnight

Is it the same symptoms?
Are you on FTTP too?
Last time on FTTC we had a problem and the engineer was away for hours, he just said there was a problem at the exchange and didn't elaborate. We are always getting problems with broadband, I thought now we are on FTTP they would stop but doesn't look like it! We had to have the cable from telegraph pole to house changed once as that had corroded.
Luckily the broadband has been OK for the last 2 days.
