Apologies for these questions I am not the best with this and have read as much as I can.
I have AX86U which I use with FTTP900 which enabled me to split SSID as well as rename them. (Both important for my alarm system that runs from 2.4 and too many devices with it so needed to rename SSID to avoid doing them all again.
Bill is now at £63pm and can get Full Fibre 900 for £30pm with VF.
From what I have read ....
I can take the full fibre or pro (but without pro benefits) and use own router.
To do so I simply reset my router, run quick start obtaining my user name and password from online chat.
I then flick into IPTV tab on asus router change it to manual and put in 911.
I can then split the SSID and rename them so everything auto connected again.
Is it as simple as this?
I have read in forum loads of people having drop outs and Internet speed issues even on 900. I've in 6 years never had a single drop out with my broadband (paisley scotland). Is this a Vodafone router issue.... or a city fibre issue?
Sorry for all the questions.
Contract ends 10th Feb.... I can get the last booking of 20th Jan so basically have to pay 1 month termination fee really. Can see cashback but only on pro version not full fibre which might help!

Unfortunately you won't see people posting on here about how good vodafone is. Also, considering the 8m user base vodafone have the number of problems is relatively small.
I use asus routers too - currently an rt-ax88u. It is as simple as you posted.
One thing though. Vodafone use digital voice and if you use your asus you'll lose this. But there is a proven workaround in the 'landline' forum.

Thank you for responding. I will take the plunge !
Did you take the pro or normal one !
I don't use the phone so that's OK!

I'm just awaiting an email regarding upgrade to pro2. Currently superfast 100.

I would have taken that if they had let me split my SSID 😞
Actually... noticed there is a guest wifi... if that runs on 2.4 and allows me to rename it and leave it on that could work... any ideas ? Not sure how good their router will be v my asus one though!

I've just been reading a thread where the guest wifi can be a solution.
I've never seen that workaround before. Hope it works for them.
The higher 5Ghz channels are empty around me to no need for 6Ghz - 160Mhz channels are great for me.
