New build house - confused about connections

Hi I'm moving to a new build shortly with fibre to the door.  The Openreach box will be in the lounge but I want my router upstairs in the spare bedroom.  There will be an ethernet port next to the Openreach box, will I be able to plug the Openreach box into the ethernet port and the router into another ethernet port in the spare room?

I'm new to all of this so not sure what I'm doing but really don't want the router in the lounge if I can help it.

You can certainly use an long ethernet cable from the ONT to the router. However if there are ethernet ports in the lounge and the bedroom, they may not be directly connected together, I would expect them to go to a patch panel somewhere.
