PS4 Can no longer connect to internet via Vodafone router

For the past few weeks, my PS4 is unable to connect to my Vodafone router via WiFi.

The PS4 connects to my mobile hotspot and all other devices (laptops, Smart TV, Fire Sticks, tablets, phones) connect to the WiFi with no issues at all.

I've also got a WiFi extender which works with all devices but not the PS4.

When I try to connect via PS4, I get the message 'Checking Network Environment' for around 30 seconds and then the PS4 fails to connect at the 'Internet' stage.

If I restart my router, this does temporarily fix the issue, but the connection then drops after a few hours.

Can anyone offer a long-term fix without the need to use a wired connection (haven't tried this yet but it's not viable) or buying another router?

Gonna either be an issue with the OS on the PS4 then or more likely a failing hardware issue.

to rule out the first, ensuring to back up your dta first, I’d try a factory reset on the PS4. I had to do this a while ago on my PS4 for a game crash issue.
