Customer of 1gb fibre for a while now and only now just having issues.
The problem came up when I was gaming about 2 weeks ago, started getting a lag, my son also said he had the same on his ps4, I'm experiencing this on multiply devices, xbox series x (wired), ps4 (wireless) and laptop on either wired or wireless connection. After doing test on the series x and pc I could see I was having packet loss anywhere from 0% to 22% average is about 12%. When running ping with cmd to 8.8.8.8 and other sites although sometimes it is fine and will run a full page or pings a d sometimes it looses some. I contacted Vodafone support multiply time with them all saying there is no issue amd cityfibre also said the same. The problem is there is and they just won't help me. They keep saying it's an issue within my home.
I proceeded to do a ping test directly through my router expert settings as I was told this bypasses any devices in my home, the ping test only sends 5 at a time sometimes 5 come back and other times only 4 of 5 come back, does this not prove its not the devices in my house.
Also to check the router I did a ping test from my laptop over wireless connection to my router 192 168.1 1 and out of 523pings not one of them got lost. Is there something else I'm missing, these tech people at vodafone are making me feel like an idiot, although I'm not up on computers as I once was I feel I'm still far from an idiot when it comes to them. Can anyone help me please, gaming online is not fun when it lags 😮💨
