I am trying to get my Netgear R7000 router running on Vodafone fibre broadband. I have acquired my network username and password and entered into PPPoE. I have also set the VLAN to id 911, priority 0 but the router does not connect. Am I missing anything? Anyone else set up an R7000 successfully?

I have the D7000. Are you using the Setup Wizard - the easiest way
Username needs to be in the format dsl*******@broadband.vodafone.co.uk
You're definitely with Cityfibre?
Contact support again, make sure they gave you the right details (1s Is and ls get mixed up as well as 0 and O) . Ask them to copy/paste, then you copy/paste into a text file.

Thanks Ripshod, I used this link (https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Other-broadband-queries/Gigafast-How-to-Guide-setup-a-Netgear-router...) to setup but your question re Cityfibre made me check. I live near Nottingham and we have Openreach instead so I need different settings. Any idea what they are or where I would find them?

You will probably not need the VLAN, but if you do it will be 101.

For FTTC openreach use 101 for the VLAN ID. For FTTP VLAN ID should be disabled.

Vodafone support advised VLAN 101 but modem had still not registered on the network after about 15 minutes so out of ideas now.

Just to confirm, you are on FTTP?
Other posters on here seem to have not needed to supply a VLAN on Openreach. Possibly the newer ONT's handle that.
As @Ripshod is using the same router on FTTP, and I am using the Vodafone router on FTTC, I shall have to let allow them to make any more recommendations

You're using a router to connect to an ONT on the wall? You've stated yourself that it's openreach, and you're using a router (no modem) so no VLAN ID.
The only time there's an exception is when you've upgraded from FTTC to openreach FTTP. For a few days your PPPoE and VLAN ID would stay the same until the new settings are activated.
Does the vodafone router connect?

All good now thanks. Having paid attention to the point about getting password characters correct, I went back to Vodafone support and determined that what I saw as a lower case "l" was in fact an upper case "I". They looked identical in the font in the web chat. They also told me to use VLAN id 10191!!!! I ignored this and, as you said, because I am on FTTP no VLAN is required. Just need to figure out how I get a landline now but that will be a separate post.

Others seem to have managed it using a Grandstand ATA, and config files shared by another user (plus details Vodafone will give you with a bit of persuasion)
