Hello. My router was made by Vodafone. It doesn't show up in my android phone's list of wi fi networks. Step by step I: opened settings, clicked 'wi fi', pressed the three dots in the corner, pressed 'add wi fi', I turned the router upside down, I typed the SSID in the first box exactly as it's printed on the sticker on the router, I selected WPA/WPA2PSK from the security drop down menu, I typed the password in the password box exactly as it's printed, and I clicked 'connect'. Nothing's happened except my router now shows up in the list of saved networks and my phone thinks it's out of range. What have I done wrong? How do I connect? (I'm at another address to ask this)

Whatever the reason there's no drop down menu at the top when I look at it. Here this may be interesting in case this kind of thing comes up again. After I connected using another computer that's been signed into the same Google account as this one in the past (I've got no idea if that's anything to do with it) all of a sudden it can see it fine and I don't know what the problem was or what solved it.

Google has nothing to do with it. But thinking about it, the capability of the browser may have some effect on what is displayed. I don't think it's the browser that is the problem but thought I should expand on my previous comment.

To Jayach (I don't know how to quote reply here but I'll work it out)- Others can see it and connect, that's right. I'd have to go into the router's settings to change the channel the router uses wouldn't I, if that's what the problem is? I'd have to borrow someone's computer then. How do I find out which channel my phone uses?

The phone will use the same channel as the router, if it can see it. You can't select the channel on a device.

Do you mean it switches to the right channel when it can see the router? How do I make it see better?
