Router keeps rebooting

Router keeps rebooting itself/losing connection. Red lights along the bottom slowly fade in and out for a few minutes and then back to normal.

 

It used to happen about once a day when my router was newly installed several months ago but it's happening a few times a day now and within the last 2 hours it's done this 6 times.

Next time it goes down, check if you lose the actual WiFi link.  If you don't then it's an issue between the modem/router and your local cabinet and will require an engineer visit.  If you do then most probably you need a modem router.  Either way, knowing this in advance will help!
