When I swapped from sky to Vodafone my SKY Q box started dropping the internet at peak times like a yo-yo . the good news is this is a easy fixed ,go to

Setting

Network connection

Network setup

Advanced setting

Manual

Change the DNS setting to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8

And that it's all sorted and working fine

And this is going back quite some time ago and for a laugh today I swapped the DNS back to Vodafone and Vodafone still has the same problem with its DNS

Come on Vodafone when are you going to fixs the problem with your DNS this has been going on for a long time .

Hi

Thanks for your post with details on how to solve the Sky Q Issue.

I am looking at switching to Vodafone Broadband from Sky Broadband. After you changed the DNS settings did the Sky Q box work without any problems?

Thanks

Yeah sky Q works fine on vodafone if you change the dns server.   I dont know if this issue is subject to different area or even different fibre cabinets and only seams to be at peak times 7pm till 10pm etc

Thanks, I wasn't sure about switching to Vodafone as I had read about the issue with Sky Q. It could be that Vodafone sees it using a lot of data and blocks it at peak times or something like that. It would be much easier if they just fixed the issue rather than customers having to change settings.

Also are you using the newest Vodafone Hub?

Yeah its the vox3000 and i think it works better that the sky hub 2 .The sky hub 2 does not seam to share the wifi correctly. Another good thing with the new vodafone hub you can set any device as priority so if the kids are downloading on the xbox you can set sky Q as priority
