Hi, I have the THG3000 and have had issues with an important device constantly disconnecting from it. I have bought at TP link AC1200 as I understood it is dual band and can set the channel to try stop the issue. Did I buy the wrong router? I am now wondering if I was meant to buy a modem too? I am not savvy with any of this but the device that I’m having issues with is to monitor my toddlers breathing so is obviously very important. When I plug in the Tp link router to the Vodafone router the internet light is orange. Thanks

Unfortunately TP link AC1200 could refer to a host of products. A model number will help, as would more info on the monitor.
You probably just need an access point to give you more control of the Wi-Fi. If you have purchased a router it probably has an access point mode.

Ah sorry, the router is this Deal: TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Full Gigabit Wi-Fi Router, Wi-Fi Speed Up to 867 Mbps/5 GHz + 300 Mbps/2.4 GHz, 4+1 Gigabit Ports, Dual-Core CPU, Parental Control, Easy setup (Archer C6) https://amzn.eu/d/8SqoFJS
The device is the owlet smart sock 3. My issue is that it will connect to the Wi-Fi for short periods of time and then disconnect again in the middle of the night for no (obvious) reason, it works only about 10% of the time now which is a big issue when he’s ill. It will randomly reconnect too so it’s not something I can do to prompt this eg restarting the router. I contact owlet who have replaced the base station but it hasn’t fixed the issue

Another option, if the monitor is a long way from the Vodafone router would be power line adapters with W-Fi at the monitor end.
Possibly something like this: Buy TP-LINK TL-WPA7517 AV1000 WiFi Powerline Adapter Kit - Twin Pack | Currys

Thanks, the base station is kept in our bedroom as even when the wifi element doesn’t work, it alerts when his sats drop really really low. But even when we’ve kept it downstairs next to the router, the problem persists.

Ah, the C6
How about a wifi extender. This can be placed in or closed to your child's bedroom and will provide a more stable wifi connection. Also has an rj45 for cable connection.

Thanks, I tried a wide WiFi extender but that didn’t work. From a Reddit post about the same issue, some people found a fox through setting the channel to 6 but the THG3000 won’t allow me to fix a channel.
When it drops from the WiFi and I use the app to try reconnect to the router, the router doesn’t come up in the list of available networks so this possibly supports the idea that I need to fix the channel.
I’m not familiar with a port- do you think that would allow me to fix on channel 6?
I chose the Tp link router so I could use the 2.4ghz and try fix the channel to 6. I requested the username and password from Vodafone which I have but maybe I need a modem?

Let's make this simple.
If everything else is working fine with the vodafone router just connect the Tp-link router's WAN to one of the thg3000's lan ports, follow the Tp-link's instructions set it up for an automatic-ip internet connection, once it's up connect the monitor to the Tp-link's wifi, sit back and test overnight.
While we take a break overnight I'll gather any info we may need if we have any problems like double NAT (unlikely as you' re monitoring locally) . I'll just peruse the Tp-link manual so I'll know what you're seeing.

Just wondering, does that C6 router have an access point mode?
NVM, it does. That's the way to go.

Ok so I did the WLAN to LAN but none of our devices can find the TP link router so I can’t complete the set up. I tried scanning the QR code but it wasn’t able to connect that way either. The lights are all solid green except the 4th light from the left (google tells me it’s a 5Ghz symbol - a person in a rectangle). I had previously split the THG3000 into a 2.4ghz and 5Ghz so turned that off incase it was causing the issue but still no luck.
