Hi, I have the THG3000 and have had issues with an important device constantly disconnecting from it. I have bought at TP link AC1200 as I understood it is dual band and can set the channel to try stop the issue. Did I buy the wrong router? I am now wondering if I was meant to buy a modem too? I am not savvy with any of this but the device that I’m having issues with is to monitor my toddlers breathing so is obviously very important. When I plug in the Tp link router to the Vodafone router the internet light is orange. Thanks

Give "TP" help-line a call and they will be able to assist you.

I hade a problem some time ago and they were very helpful of sorting a similar niggle to yours.

Which version of the C6 do you have (I've counted 4 so far)? Then, once you have the version number you can go to Tp-link support and download the full "User Manual". Once you've reset the C6 using the button at the back follow the instructions in the user manual (somewhere around page 20 and set it up as an access point.

Better to have it on paper in front of you than mess about with a phone call.

Thanks so much for all your advice. I managed to finally get the TP link router working and set it to access point mode. When I set the channel to 6, the owlet device connected immediately! It’s been working for the last hour or so which I’m praying means it’s fixed the issue. But it’s very temperamental and can work for days and then suddenly stop so time will tell. Thankyou so much for all your advice, it brings me so much peace of mind when it’s working and I am totally out of my depth with all of this!

If anything is going to be temperamental it'll do it with the vodafone router's wifi. I don't know exactly what causes it, but probably a product of vodafone's firmware.

Things should be much more stable now. Let us know how you get on.

Reading the various comments, especially the fact the Vodafone router seems to be unfindable by the base station at times, it's probably to do with the Vodafone router choosing channels 12 or 13 occasionally, which it appears the base station can't use. (trying to find actual specs for the base station was unsuccessful)

If you have been able to fix the channel at 6 by using the TP-link router in access point, that should cure the problem. (it is also possible to set the channel in the Vodafone router, by using an old version of the Vodafone app)

You could probably have achieved the same result with a simple 2.4GHz access point, but as long as it works, that's what matters.

I read a reddit with the same subject. The fix was manually setting channel 6, so we hit that sweetspot straight away. If that fails in the future another suggestion was to use WPA/WPA2-Personal for authentication. So we still have one bullet in the arsenal.

Just a quick update to say that it’s been working consistently for the last couple of days! My little boy is having investigative surgery this week and knowing his sats in the run up has been really helpful and will be important after his surgery. So thankyou so much for all your help.
