I've got a new (2021/07/09) Vodafone ADSL/WiFi hub but I cannot see how I stop the WiFi from channel hopping. I have had issues in the past with some older devices which cannot keep up with router channel hopping and this was solved by stopping my old router from switching channels and using a fixed channel.
So how do I stop the Vodafone router from channel hopping?

Can someone who uses the old app to fix the channel do a network traffic capture so that we can see what it does? My guess is that the app uses http(s) to access a hidden web page and make the changes and if we see the network traffic we could lovingly craft similar queries, either directly or via a simple Python script.

We did, sort of, start down this route a while ago
but TR-069 may be a problem when it comes to trying to emulate the responses

I thought TR609 was for updates/config from the ISP to the router i.e. a backdoor for updates and to change your config. I would be surprised if their app was using that because I'd expect TR609 to be enabled only via the ADSL port and not via WiFi/LAN connection.

The suspicion it not to do with WiFi in that context, but that it has been observed that the firmware behaves differently the moment that the router establishes communications with VF.

They haven't been issuing that router for well over a year, and I'm sure they will have removed that option from the firmware on there, same as they have done on the current router and the apps.
