Giga Cube strict NAT TYPE.
I am not sure why no body told us about this major technical issue for people that use Giga Cube strictly for online gaming.

I feel betrayed as no one from Vodafone told me that it would be impossible to change the NAT type from type 3 to 2 or even 1.

technical support team usually have no idea about this issue when you try to contact them and always say the issue is with the router. I’m now stuck with 24 months contract and Vodafone won’t do anything about it.

As I read on multiple threads that people been having this issue since 2019….. it’s been over 3 years now and nothing changed.

If you are a gamer NEVER BUY THE GIGA CUBE AS YOUR NAT TYPE WILL ALWAYS BE STRICT.

Hi @Njmh94. It's disappointing to see your concerns and feedback regarding the use or your GigaCube with your games console. This definitely isn't the smoothest start to your GigaCube journey.

Your Vodafone SIM card is a NAT type 3 (Strict) to protect your information behind a firewall and cannot be changed. This restricts the Playstation/Xbox servers from being able to connect to the GigaCube as they need NAT type 1 or 2. Furthermore, the GigaCube operates with a Dynamic IP Address instead of a static IP Address which also doesn't allow for the Playstation/Xbox to connect unfortunately.

In line with our Returns Policy you can return something you bought from us if it doesnt work properly, or youve changed your mind and dont want it anymore - just make sure you send it back to us within the time limit.

Dear Jason,

Thank you for your kind words.

I tried contacting Vodafone multiple times and I’ve been told that I must pay all the months I have left in advance in order to cancel the Giga cube services.

I don’t see a reason why should I pay that much money in order to cancel a bad service that I’m stuck with now. Please help me out.
The people in the technical team have now idea of what you have mentioned and they always say that the problem is with my router.

imagine trying to fix the NAT type for months and the technical team never told me about this problem in order for me to be able to return the giga cube in the first 30 days of having it.

no one ever told me what Jason mentioned above.

@Njmh94 - I can understand your frustration if this isn't something you've been advised. I'd like my team to review your account notes, if it is that you'd contacted us within the return period about the issue. So that we can do this, please contact us through Social Media. Please include a link to this thread.

Dear Gemma,

I have contacted @@Vodafone Uk on twitter DM and still waiting for a reply.

As you know I was not aware about the NAT type issue and that it was the reason why I had very slow internet speeds. The technical team never advised me in regards of this issue. They always refer me to update the router settings.

Thanks @Njmh94 A member of the Social Media team will reply to your messages as soon as they can and they will get this all looked into for you.

Hello just wondering has any update happend with this ? I am 2 days into a 24 month contract and will be cancelling if this issue is still the same . It's very miss leading and poor from vodafone not to mention this nat restriction at the point of sell.

Hi @henryharry35 have you spoken to the team over at Facebook and X to see they are able  to assist you with you technical queries,

No I haven't spoke to them on social media as I found out from in store staff and other people that the nat issue hasn't gone and I was told vodafone won't change the policy so i have cancelled my contract and another friend of mine is  doing the same . Some of the in store staff are not even aware of this issue when selling the gigacube which is pretty bad practice from vodafone as the Nat restriction really makes it pretty much a no go for gamers.

I'm shocked vodafone refuse to change this issue and still fail to mention it at the point of sale .
