On CityFibre 900 and speeds are near unusable. Switched to the mobile dongle and they were even worse.
What is going on?

4th night of awful speeds from 8pm onwards. Can't get a reasonable answer out of support why this is happening and they just keep telling me to reset my router which is pointless.

@jellyman There's for sure something odd happening in the evenings, like you this has been going on for days now.
Using speedtest and connecting to Vodafone Manchester my download speeds have dropped to a dismal 24Mbps down yet upload is 815Mbps, even worse if i change server to Vodafone Edinburgh 12Mbps down and 614Mbps up, i live in Edinburgh so that makes no sense.
What also makes no sense is that Wireless still appers to be unaffected, my PC is wired and the speeds above are what i see, some time around midnight the speeds shoot back up again and remaain like that until the following evening, it's very odd.

Having the EXACT SAME ISSUES in Aberdeen, just like @user99
Being on a 900mbps plan, the connection drops down to 2-3mbps download (upload mostly unaffected) starting from around 6pm till midnight, every single day since the 13th!!
Started a ticket on tuesday, still unresolved the issue, vodafone got in touch with the CityFibre guys and apparently they see no issues..
In general the connection throughtout the day is just poor, it seems like I only reach the supposed speeds at night when everyone is asleep... I barely managed to post this here since the webpage didn't want to load for a while!

I'm in Aberdeen, and I was going through hell with this all May.
It took an extreme amount of effort to get anyone at Vodafone who would listen, and I was assured it was a CityFibre issue that would be resolved towards the end of July (apparently it was congested and needed an infrastructure upgrade).
Clearly that hasn't happened, as I'm down to single digits again tonight.
The old thread about this issue in Aberdeen was deleted for some reason.
Everyone with this issue needs to raise a complaint to make sure it's raising alarm bells and gets fixed. Calling the support line is useless, you'll just get told its your house/router/computer/cable and asked to restart your devices and wait a week, etc.

That is essentialy my (uninformed) take on the situation, that this must be some traffic congestion since the connection is at its worst during peak hours when everyone is home and at its best during night when everyone is asleep..

In my case that would make sense if it effected both Wireless and LAN but i don't have a standalone router only the Vodafone Ultrahub and it's only the LAN ports that see a drop in speed in the evenings so clearly something else is happening because if it was congestion then both Wireless and the LAN ports on the Ultrahub would be effected... it also can't be faulty LAN ports on the Ultrahub because either side of evening times i get the speeds i'm supposed to get.

For me there are issues on both LAN and wireless, kinda curious as to why wi-fi would be fine but wired connection wouldn't be..

How are you testing wifi speeds?
If with a phone is it possible that the phone is using 5G as it sees the wifi being slow?
Might have to dig out a laptop and test my wifi speed now!

dfunky, no, mobile data was turned off, i was only using wireless from my Vodafone Ultrahub.
Verified it on my wife's mobile phone and a tablet as well, all showed the same speeds and appeared normal but change to Vodafone Edinburgh and the speeds fell off a cliff to more or less what my PC LAN port connection is seeing.
It's very strange.

Aye, definitely something going on out there. I reckon with Vodafone's kit, but we have no way to rule out Cityfibre's either.
Funny results myself, similar to last time I had this problem. All from just before 9 this evening.
Edinburgh 1.7 down, 392 up
London 130 down, 655 up
Manchester 1.7 down, 640 up
Bracknell 185 down, 649 up
