On CityFibre 900 and speeds are near unusable. Switched to the mobile dongle and they were even worse.

What is going on?

Speeds are ok tonight so far.Maybe that reboot has worked as i'm no longer routed through Fraserburgh,it's now going through Liverpool.

Replying to my own thread again as my speeds have plummeted again, you love to see it.

No point contacting support as it's hours of your life you can never get back.

2.48mbps download speeds tonight, definitely one of the worst nights it's ever been. Literally took more than 10 seconds to even load the speedtest webpage.

Vodafone sent a text today to say they have booked a Cityfibre engineer to investigate the problem with my broadband. So we'll see how that goes, probably won't even get a reply or phone call like last time.

They sent me an engineer after a call on a Wednesday. Booked for Saturday morning. Ten minutes after VF hanging up, cityfibre engineer called... "I'm on my way, I'll be there in 15 mins"

Glad he was happy to wait and that I was able to get home.....

I'll be really curious to hear what their next steps are after the engineers don't find anything. Last time they booked me an engineer, I made myself available that day and absolutely nobody turned up. Vodafone then denied all knowledge of an engineer booking. So, I never got to see what the next steps would be.

If you do get an engineer, can you maybe convince him to get his superiors to tell Vodafone that they have a widespread problem on their side they need to investigate? Might be in their interest too, or they're gonna have a lot of useless call-outs in Aberdeen to deal with. Might be an opportunity for us to get a message through to someone competent.

I got a text this morning saying Great News, we have fixed your broadband. I highly doubt that, so will see what the speedtests and packet loss tests are tonight but I'm definitely not holding out hope. Tbh I don't even know if they've actually contacted cityfibre in the first place or if a cityfibre engineer has even done anything because I initially got the text yesterday morning, so either it was "fixed" yesterday afternoon or today in the morning, but no one from cityfibre phoned me or attended my address, so it's probably typical vodafone just saying that so the ticket gets closed.

Update: 4-18% Packet Loss and higher ping than ive ever had with vodafone. Normally would get 12-18 ping on a speedtest but now im up to 22 after running a speedtest. Also had much higher ping while gaming and 18% Packet Loss is literally unplayable, any packet loss is unnaceptable from vodafone, but 18% after they claim they fixed the broadband??? Shocking. Safe to say they fixed absolutely nothing.

I am in Aberdeen and in the last few days I have had speed issues in the evening with under 10 when guaranteed min is 455. I have noticed this a few times over this year. I have called Vodafone every day for the last 4 days and getting so much different stories.  Today I have been told the fault ticket NET12297123 with CityFibre is affecting multiple customers and has been open since 29-04-24. (no typo). There is no end date in sight. I have been told to call 08080057320 cityfibre to enquire with them. I need to cool down a bit before I do that. I expect they will tell my to contact my provider. I suspected this is an open ended ticket for an issue that will cost money to fix,  they won’t fix as there is no consequences if they don’t. I asked about compensation and escalation and was told I can’t until the never ending ticket is closed.

Funnily enough going from Vodafone to Zen, on the same cityfibre line, has fixed my slow down issues...

Speeds below guaranteed for 30+ days mean you can get out of contract I think, worth checking OFCOM regs. Hopefully someone more knowledgable on them will contribute.
