Can you get 900mb?

I joined a week before Christmas on the 900mb package , however the max I've got so far is 517mb over ethernet.

Ethernet cat 7 to router, cat 5e to PC (has 1 gigabit ethernet port)

I've had 3 calls with them so far, the last one today, basically saying they've done tests, everything is OK , I'm getting above minimum and not everyone can get 900mb.

Trying to explain to him that surely it's not OK if I'm only get half the speed? Is this unreasonable?

Even on my previous supplier on fttc I got the full speed I was signed up to (70mb) , and pretty close to that even over WiFi.

Unreasonable, no.

However you did agree to it when you signed up, the guaranteed speeds are clearly stated in the figures.

Yes I did , however, I don't see any reason why I can't get nearer the actual 900Mbps?

I get why they have the minimum,  to cover the odd blip in service , but to never get much over that?
