For weeks I've been trying to figure out why my streaming services all don't seem to work very well at night (on the Pro Full Fibre 900 plan) and last night speeds dropped to the lowest I've ever seen.
I went through the support chat and they told me there is a congestion problem in my area that will be fixed soon, they could not tell me when it would be fixed or where I could get an update on this.
How is this not a scam? I have a connection that is unusable during the time I want to use it.
From reading the other posts on this forum it looks like I'm not the only one.
Posting this here so I can hopefully get someone's attention and get a real answer as to when this will be fixed.

Speeds are awful again. 2 nights of extremely sub par service.

They need to address this or I'm going back to BT.

So... I've found out vodafone are throttling our speeds from 6pm...
40mbs download speed.
So then I got a VPN and set it outside of Aberdeen... 400mbs download speed.
Top of the market scam it seems.

The last 3 nights the internet has been unusable for me and now this looks like confirmation we're all being throttled and lied to by vodafone support.
What can we do about this? Using a VPN isn't really a solution as surely they will throttle that as well.

It isn't throttling.
As you allude, if it was throttling a VPN would be affected.

So why was I able to increase my speeds using a VPN?

Because the VPN is bypassing whatever is causing the problem(s) in Vodafone's routing.
I believe they are aware and working to cure it, but as they never tell us users anything we are left in the dark.
I say it's not throttling because that is a deliberate act, and I don't believe what is happening is deliberate, probably just poor planning and implementation of network upgrades.
And no, I have no proof of that, but I've been here for 2 years, and I've seen it happen before.

That's fair!
Maybe it's fairer to say our speeds are being throttled by some issue with their network.
You're right that they are keeping customers in the dark. Regardless. I'm glad to have left. Had play games on my desktop using my phone as a hotspot... Meanwhile the wired network costing us more money in Aberdeen and by the sounds of things elsewhere is incapable of doing anything.
Our service ends on the 3rd. Thought it was a good investment but I was wrong.

Yes I would agree with that, and by not providing information on just what is going on, they are creating bad feeling in their users. Users who will leave at the first opportunity and spread the word to friends and family.
Vodafone seem to be their own worst enemy
