how can i increase my internet speed?

notsuperfast
4: Newbie
Hey, I have opted for the 80/20 service (superfast2) but am not recieveing anything close to it, I have heard that the SNR can effect the speed and the valued seem pretty high. Would there be anything for me to do to decrease this. I am ongoing a complaint case and Jackie from the Directors Office is dealing with it, but wondering what I can do within the meantime. I suggested to her about installing a new copper line free of charge, but have not had a response yet.

On top of that here are the results from BT Wholesale:

Please can someone explain to me what all of this information means and how it effects my internet speed / what the optimum values should be (I would like to understand what is going on) and sorry for the inconvenience in advance.

Me neither, it seems like your line has serious problems, but Openreach are not prepared to do anything about it.

I can only suggest going via the complaint route, and if they are unable to do anything to resolve it, (and physically Vodafone can do nothing) by putting pressure on Openreach, then go to CISAS, if necessary, and leave and try another ISP.

Complaints Code of Practice | Vodafone UK

Or live with the low speeds until FTTP becomes available in your area.

Does this link give any more info on when that may be?

@Jayach

Currently I have a complaint being processed, however they keep trying to phone my at awkward times where I am unable to answer. When I call back it says that the phone number is not accepting calls. I keep emailing them and to the caseworker too but they never reply.

How long is a piece of string?

It may never be allowed if it contains personal info.

It means nobody can give a definitive time for moderation.

It means what it says, they don't allow information that can identify you to be posted.

HTH.

@Jayach

It has. It shows you should definitely be getting a higher speed.

I don't know if it is the same for everyone, but I only see the observed speeds when using the number checker, not the address one.
