Hi guys,
I'm using a tplink managed switch and only getting half the internet speed out of it. I was on 80mb and would get 40mb, upgrading to 150mb I'm getting 75mb. Is there a setting on the router to fix the issue?
Thanks

@sha1024 If it's managed, then it sounds like it's running in half duplex mode. Have a look at the switch manual for this setting.
Oh one other thing, it is a gigabit switch isn't it?

Yeah it's a gigabit switch. I'll give this a try as soon as I get home.
Thanks.

@sha1024 Also if QoS is on it may have set physical port priority so one port "goes first" in terms of traffic management and/or rate limits.
If your tp-link switch is from the Omada range the manual is here https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manual/2024/202408/20240813/1910013715_Omada%20Easy%20Managed%20Sw...

Hi guys,
I changed all the ports to use gigabit speed. My ps5 utilises the full speed but my firestick doesn't. Not sure why the inconsistencies.

The Firestick itself may only be 100MBS as that is more than enough for video streaming. As an example the Sky Stream box only has 100MBS ethernet so you get much faster speeds using its Wi-Fi connection.

@sha1024 Apart from the Firestick are all the other ones at full speed now?

Yeah the ports are at full speed now, 1000MF. Thanks. Just have to figure out what's going on with the firestick, the adapter I'm using is gigabit.

So on the weekend I was only getting 50% speed on my firestick but Wednesday evening I got 100% speed through the switch. It's weird. Forcing the port settings to full speed full duplex has made a difference so I'll flag that as the best answer.
Thanks for your help.
